Urinalysis

Urinalysis requires taking a urine sample and using a test strip to determine the amount of glucose in the urine. Ultimately, this is easier and less painful than blood testing for all involved. However, it is almost impossible to get a cat to urinate on a test strip for you. The next best thing is to collect a sample as soon as possible after they urinate. This has its own problems as most cats use litter boxes and the litter absorbs the urine as soon as it is used.

The easy solution to this problem is to design a litter box that allows the urine to be collected, but still gives the cat something to dig in.
