French Toast

This is a very thick French Toast that is almost like a soufflé in the middle. It is best served hot with lots of butter and maple syrup.

Time - Preparation: 10 minutes Time - Cooking: 10 minutes
    Temp - Stove: Medium
   
Equipment:
Mixing bowl Cake pan
10" Frying Pan  
   
Ingredients:
2 Eggs (Large) 1/4 Tsp. Nutmeg
1/4 Cup Milk 1/4 Tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 Tsp. Salt 1/4 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
1 Slice French Bread (1" x 6" x 8")  
   
Preparation:
  • Beat Eggs thoroughly
  • Add remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly
  • Place bread slice in cake pan and pour mixture over it slowly
  • Turn bread over occasionally, allow it to soak up all the liquid
   
Cooking:
  • Butter the frying pan
  • Place bread slice in pan and cook slowly, turning occasionally until the center puffs up and both sides area dark brown
  • Serve immediately
